Characteristics of octopus fishery in Ampana Tojo Una-Una Sea waters

Abstract Octopus fishing activity have been established in Ampana Waters and surrounding areas since the 1990s. The goal of this research is to examine octopus fishery waters its surroundings. methodology used study are CPUE Length-based assessment which includes some analysis catch per unit effort, season, size structure, weigh distribution, length-weight relationship, ground, gear operation specification, marketing flow. ranges from 7–15 kg/units/day, with an average 11 kg/units/day; season runs August November; mantle length 8–22 cmML, mode 14 cmML; male 9–19 while female weight 300–2500 gr, dominant at 800 gr 1000 gr. Growth patterns for both males females negative allometric. fishermen fished around Tanjung Api, Pagimana north Bunta beach.
